A specialty chemical manufacturer in Houston, Texas, was expanding their pilot plant to produce heat stabilizers for PVC. They required a corrosion-resistant, transparent reactor to monitor color changes and precipitate formation during synthesis. The PGR-100 was chosen for its 100L capacity, 600 mm outer vessel diameter, and 6 neck openings.
The 250W motor (3.98 Nm torque) handled high-viscosity mixtures at low RPM (down to 50 rpm). The 304 stainless steel framework with movable brake casters allowed them to reposition the reactor between batch stations. The digital speed display and control knob on the IP66-rated panel simplified operation for shift technicians.
“We ran side-by-side tests with a steel reactor and the PGR-100. The glass reactor’s visibility eliminated sampling errors – we could see exactly when the exothermic peak ended. The vacuum holding at 0.098 MPa was perfect for removing byproduct water. We’re now standardizing on PGR series for all our pilot lines."
The US client also noted the compact transport dimensions (1000*700*2700 mm) fit through their standard lab doorways without disassembly.
