The FPGR-HV100 high viscosity glass reactor is a 100 litre jacketed vessel designed around a problem that conventional paddle agitators cannot solve: mixing a mass whose viscosity climbs from a few hundred centipoise to several hundred thousand during the reaction. An anchor impeller with close wall clearance, machined to follow the spherical bottom, scrapes the heat transfer surface continuously so that no stagnant film insulates the jacket and no local overheating degrades the polymer. A helical ribbon variant is available where axial turnover of a very high viscosity mass is more important than wall scraping.
Driven by a 750 W gear motor through a heavy duty mechanical seal, the shaft carries a torque rating of 60 Nm and is stabilised by a PTFE bottom bearing that centres the impeller at the vessel outlet. The vessel wall is 3.3 borosilicate glass, thick enough to resist the lateral load of a high viscosity mass and to keep the reaction visible while it turns from clear liquid to opaque gum. The cover is separated from the body and clamped with a PTFE gasket, so a batch that has set overnight can still be opened for cleaning after the jacket has been warmed.

The vessel is used for solution and bulk polymerisation of acrylics and styrenics, the manufacture of silicone sealants and thermal pastes, resin and varnish cooking, hot melt adhesive blending, and the dispersion of high loadings of mineral filler into a polymer carrier. Adhesive and coating producers rely on the visible vessel to judge the endpoint of a bodying reaction, and to detect the phase inversion that no in-line sensor reports reliably. Pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulators use the same frame for gel manufacture, where the neutralised gel must be stirred slowly without entraining air.
Packaging & Quality AssuranceDrive trains are run for four hours against a brake load before dispatch and a torque curve report is issued with each unit. The vessel is hydro tested at 0.2 MPa. Glassware ships in high density foam within individual cartons and the assembled frame travels in a reinforced plywood case. Wear parts, including PTFE scraper tips, the bottom bearing and seal faces, are supplied as a commissioning kit. The unit carries a twelve month warranty; transit damage is replaced free of charge. Process support is available for impeller selection based on the rheology curve of a customer formulation.
